-their wishes afterward-

天使のお仕事 -their wishes afterward- was the second novel game release from APPLE Project and the first game we attempted to port and archive on eien. The first part of the name 天使のお仕事 means “Angel’s work” or “Work of an Angel”, and transliterated is written as “tenshi no oshigoto.” On this page we give a more detailed description of the project and more relevant downloads. Releases and Description

There are, to our knowledge, two different releases: APL-002 and APL-002A. The former was released on December 24th, 1999, and the latter on October 22th, 2000. The packaging is different between the two releases, with the later release having a new a front cover design with the words “final edition” on it. The CD designs are also different.

The games themselves also differ. The latter having a vastly reformatted script and replacing some sections with “cutscenes” with fading text instead. Moreover, there is at least one additional section.

The game itself is a continuation of Shiori’s storyline in Key’s Kanon. It continues after the events in Kanon, and has Yuuichi and Shiori further explore their relationship as they attempt to discover what happened to Ayu. It touches on topics like guilt and jealousy.

Rips, Assets, and eien Editions

At eien we have physical copies of both releases, and are able to provide new rips and scans of both releases. The rips have been created using “CloneCD,” as this ensures the multisession format is maintained for proper archival. Since our copy of APL-002A is still sealed, we have instead relied on RyanTheArchivist’s copy on archive.com for the rips and scans of that game.

To run our rips, please either burn the image to a CD, for example with CloneCD, or mount the files using something like DAEMON Tools. Installation is likely to require an older OS, we used Windows 98. Lastly, for the audio to work correctly, only the former option with a burned physical CD will work.

Our eien edition is a modern port which we have created based on the assets from the initial edition, and does not require any additional software and is fully “plug and play.” It also uses ONScripter-en instead of NScripter to provide a whole host of new features. We suggest you use this edition if you want to simply enjoy the game with modern quality of life enhancements. We provide both an eien release in original Japanese, and a localized port into English. We will likely update this release in the future to be more in line with the port of “Stay. -Fragments of Memories-.”

Archival, Porting, and Localization effort

As previously mentioned, we have physical copies of both games. The relevant assets are downloadable above and to our understanding we have all versions. We consider archival to be complete. On request, we can provide new rips and scans (up to 1200x1200DPI).

The game has a completed port. This port uses a modern version of ONScripter-en and uses lossless wav rips for the music. We have a full translation of the game in English, which is based on APL-002. We currently believe the localization to be completed as well. In the future we will eventually provide an improved version which also adds all the additional features of APL-002A and offers a translated assets as well, together with new engine enhancements. Also, the developer notes in the English localization’s bonus folder have been machine translated for now; these might also get proper translations if there is any demand.

The game itself was created by the following people: Miyazo (Planning and Scenario), PRIMIL (CG Illustration), Hatsuyuki (Script Coding), Manack (Mastering, BGM, and OP/ED Mixing), Kotono (BGM), Nekono Comet (BGM), Pakira (BGM), and Mirawi (BGM).

The port at eien was made by Ciox, who translated the game into English. On the technical side, the ONScripter-EN project and their members have provided their expertise and a ready made new engine. Galladite and Playmer have also provided custom tools for better audio integration and decompression of files. Editing of the English translation was done by AwkwardPlatypus13, Ryan64, and Kotomi.
